Pure organic Saffron rigorously cultivated and harvested by hand in Sardinia, a region of excellence and a great tradition in the production of this spice.

Saffron (Crocus sativus), the "red gold" of world cuisine, is the luxury spice par excellence. The aroma given off by its pistils is truly unmistakable.
Its extraordinary value is given by the exclusivity of its taste and perfume but also by the commitment and dedication necessary for its cultivation, harvesting and cleaning which is done exclusively by hand to guarantee the highest standards of quality and purity. From 140,000 to 200,000 flowers are needed to produce one kg of pistils.

On the market it is possible to find products at ridiculously low prices, but which almost always reveal very low quality standards, reduced nutritional values and unsatisfactory aromatic properties. Often this happens because it is grown with unsustainable methods or because it is sophisticated and/or sweetened in the most disparate ways (for example with the addition of safflower, turmeric powder or even synthetic dyes...).
What can the conscious consumer do to overcome this danger?
He can buy the product directly from a certified company, which guarantees the traceability of the entire supply chain. He can choose pure organic Saffron, in whole and not pulverized pistils, in order to considerably reduce the probability of incurring the aforementioned drawbacks.

Wellness Spice

The pistils of Crocus sativus are today increasingly studied in the food, medical, nutraceutical and cosmetic fields due to their very high content in molecules with antioxidant, neuro-protective, digestive and stimulating properties on the body's natural defences. Saffron has also demonstrated in numerous scientific works that it is able to give a feeling of relaxation, distension and mental well-being. Among the most important compounds (also for their health properties) we include crocin and crocetin, carotenoids responsible for color, and safranal, the monoterpenic aldehyde protagonist of the aroma.

How to use it?

• To give an unmistakable flavor and a golden color to our dishes:it can be inserted directly raw or leave the desired quantity to soak in warm water

  for at least an hour. Subsequently insert into the desired preparation.
  
  

• For the preparation of a tea of pleasure, using it pure or together with one or more plants in a mixture to promote proper digestion and relaxation: pour the hot water into a cup in which a few stigmas have previously been inserted and wait ten minutes. Filter and drink.
