From the fruits of the Lentischio an oil is obtained which has been used since time immemorial in Sardinia as an edible oil, its uses ranged from the medical, magical, ritual and not least cosmetic fields. Lentisk Oil was used by men and women to strengthen hair, make hair shiny and untangled and for the treatment of impure and acne-prone skin. It was also used to combat joint and rheumatic pains. This oil has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and healing activity, adjuvant in the treatment of dermatitis, psoriasis and burns. The high content of essential fatty acids gives it excellent cosmetic properties also for the skin. Its soothing and emollient action makes it suitable also for sensitive and irritated skin.
