Perennial herbaceous plant of the Polygonaceae family; from its dehulled and dried rhizome a powder rich in tannins is obtained, which gives it astringent and anti-inflammatory properties, so that it can be used on burns and wounds.

HAIR: The main characteristic of Rhubarb is that it is a natural golden yellow dye, but it can be mixed with other dyeing herbs to create customized tones. It also proves useful against excess sebum.

HUES NOTES: Indicated to obtain blonde and golden tones on blonde and light brown hair, ideal also for covering white hair.

HISTORY and CURIOSITY: The Greek etymology of the word Rabarbaro has a curious double meaning: Rha means both the plant and the Volga, the name of the river around which the first cultivations of Rhubarb in Europe have arisen.

HOW TO USE: Mix the rhubarb and the mix of herbs, if chosen, with boiling water until you get the consistency of a yogurt. Cover the container and allow to stand for 20 minutes. Apply the paste to clean, dry or slightly damp hair. Massage with light circular movements. Apply what remains on the lengths. Leave from 15 minutes to 2 hours: the laying time varies depending on the shade you want to get. A final rinse with water and vinegar helps keep the hair shiny and soft.
